Liverpool transfer news as pictures emerge of new signing arriving for medical

It is Ronald Araujo day at Liverpool as the Uruguayan international prepares to finish his medical and finalise his transfer.

The Reds have agreed a season-long loan deal with Barcelona and also have the option to make the deal permanent for €55m in 2027.

Araujo was spotted jetting off from Barcelona earlier today.

And now, he has arrived in Merseyside, with Fabrizio Romano and a few others sharing pictures of the Uruguayan and his family from their plane.

Ronald Araujo arrives at Liverpool

As seen in the tweets below, Araujo flew into Manchester earlier today, after which he departed for Merseyside and then the AXA Training Centre to complete his medical.

Liverpool are at Anfield today for Andoni Iraola’s first pre-season game at home as they prepare to take on Monaco.

It remains to be seen if Araujo is present at Anfield, but seeing as he just reached the city to finish his medical and sign his contract, it appears unlikely to be the case.

Earlier today, Hansi Flick said that Araujo was happy to move to Liverpool and sent a classy parting message to his former captain.

The Reds are getting an experienced defender who can play right back as well as in central defence, while he has also shown that he is a vocal leader for club and country.

If Araujo adapts to life in England and recaptures his form from two seasons ago, Liverpool may be about to revive one of the most reliable defenders in the game. Fingers crossed.
