Liverpool haven’t yet attempted to sign West Ham defender Issa Diop, according to the Telegraph‘s Jason Burt on Twitter.
The Reds are searching for a centre-back to bring in before Monday’s transfer deadline, as their injury crisis at the back worsens.
Jurgen Klopp is now without Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Fabinho, meaning Nathaniel Phillips and Jordan Henderson are the current first-choice pairing.
Diop has been linked with a move to Liverpool in recent days, but Burt claims that ‘no approach’ has been made for the Frenchman.

Of all the players tipped to come in and solve the centre-back issue, Diop is arguably the best.
The 24-year-old may be struggling for playing time at West Ham – he has made just three starts in the Premier League this season – but he is a more than competent defender in the English top flight, making 69 appearances in it overall.
He won an average of 2.5 aerial duels per game in the league in 2019/20, with his dominance in the air making him a shrewd addition.
