Liverpool have denied holding any interest in a deal to sign Brazilian youngster Lucas Paqueta.
David Lynch of the London Evening Standard reports that the club are not interested in the player and have been surprised by claims that suggest otherwise.
According to reports, Paqueta is set to join Milan in a €35 million January deal, but Liverpool had been expected to rival the Italians.
That no longer appears to be the case, with the player closing in on a move to the San Siro.

Paqueta has been heavily linked with a move to Europe and looks set to be the next Brazilian youngster to try and make his mark on the continent.
While at Flamengo, he has earned rave reviews and is very highly thought of in Brazil.
Milan have been among the front-runners to sign the player for some time, while he has also drawn links to Chelsea in the past.
