James Milner has rejected the opportunity to come out of international retirement and play at this summer’s World Cup.
The Times report that the Football Association have been trying to lure the Liverpool midfielder back into the England set-up after a number of impressive performances this season.
Milner has been a standout performer for the Reds in a central midfield position after a string of injuries at Anfield.

The former Manchester City man retired from international football back in August 2016 but has been touted for a return on several occasions.
Gareth Southgate has been keen to discuss the chances of the player joining the squad for this summer’s World Cup, but is yet to hold talks directly with the midfielder.
When he announced his retirement back in 2016, Milner cited the opportunity for younger players to come through and make a mark in the squad as his reason behind the decision.
