Salah nominated for January player of the month award

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been nominated for the January PFA Player of the Month award, as reported on the official club website.

The Egyptian netted three times in the first month of 2019, one against Brighton in the 1-0 victory and two against Crystal Palace in the pulsating 4-3 win at Anfield.

However, the Reds dropped five points last month but still hold a five-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.

Manchester United trio David De Gea, Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba have also been shortlisted, as well as Watford’s Troy Deeney and Manchester City’s Leroy Sane.

Salah won the award in December and is currently the leading scorer in the top flight with 16 goals, one ahead of Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Salah will be looking to keep his goalscoring form going as Liverpool face West Ham at the London Stadium on Monday night.
