Former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has heaped praise on his ex-team mate Philippe Coutinho as the Brazilian’s transfer saga, relating to a move to Barcelona, looks set to continue in January, the Independent report.
Despite having three bids rejected in the summer, Barcelona are still adamant they can land their number one target in January.
Barca chiefs have admitted they haven’t given up on Coutinho, with the player still believed to be keen on a move to the Nou Camp.

Former team mate Suarez stated how excited Coutinho must be on the prospect of joining Barcelona, heaping praise on the player along the way.
I’ve spoken with Coutinho because I have a good relationship with him, obviously he must be excited [to come to Barcelona] because he’s a player with ambition and any player would want to come to Barcelona. Despite trying to leave Liverpool, he’s continued to help the team and work hard. He’s showing himself to be a professional with the ambition to take a step forward [in his career].
Even though Barcelona sold Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer for €222 million, and failed to land Coutinho, they have still managed an unbeaten start to the season and are four points clear at the top of La Liga, eight clear of rivals Real Madrid.
