France Football have announced that Alexander-Arnold is in the running to become the first ever winner.
The award is celebrating what France Football describe as the ‘future of football’, with a host of young prospects from the world of football nominated.
The magazine has been announcing the nominees for the Ballon d’Or award throughout the day, but they have also revealed those in the running for the Kopa Trophy too.

Alexander-Arnold joins Gianluigi Donnarumma, Patrick Cutrone, Ritsu Doan, Houssem Aouar, Christian Pulisic, Rodrygo, Justin Kluivert, Amadou Hiadara and Kylian Mbappe on the list.
The Reds defender cemented himself as a first-team regular last season in the absence of Nathaniel Clyne and has failed to look back since.
He would go on to play a key role in Liverpool’s run to the Champions League final before going on to being called up to England’s World Cup.
