Liverpool pair Virgil van Dijk and James Milner have both been named in Garth Crooks’ team of the week.
Following both of their impressive performances against the Gunners, Crooks named the duo in his team of the week for the BBC.
Milner scored what was Liverpool’s only goal of the game with a well-taken effort to beat Bernd Leno in the Arsenal goal.
Meanwhile, van Dijk earned rave reviews for his defensive performance that saw him lead from the back.
The Dutchman showed his leadership qualities as the Gunners piled on the pressure in the second half.
Crooks hailed the defender’s ability to both do the dirty side of the game, as well as keeping his cool when his side needed him.
The Netherlands international battled like a Trojan against Arsenal but was still capable of producing a touch of class on the ball regardless of the chaos and the pressure of the moment.
The draw at the Emirates was Liverpool’s third in their last five league games, with the Reds now sitting two points behind Manchester City.
