Liverpool are lining up a summer swoop for Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves, according to Portuguese journalist Marcus Alves.

When asked for more information by a supporter on Twitter, Alves said:

Neves has been the standout player for Wolves in their amazing promotion campaign, with some fans and pundits suggesting that he might be the best player to ever grace the Championship.
The 21-year-old moved to Wolves from Porto for around £16m last summer due to the close links that the Midlands side have with his agent Jorge Mendes.
He’s scored six goals for Wolves, all of which are out of the top drawer, and it’s no surprise to see teams such as Liverpool interested in him. The newly promoted side would not be happy losing their best player but getting Anderson Talisca as a replacement would soften the blow somewhat.
It’s widely accepted that the Reds are looking for midfielders this summer and if they can get Neves, the club’s fans will be delighted.
