Besiktas hold talks with Divock Origi about summer transfer

Turkish side Besiktas have held talks with the agent of Divock Origi about a possible summer transfer, according to reports.

The Belgian forward spent last season on loan at Wolfsburg but he had a difficult time there, and the German side are unlikely to pursue a permanent deal for him.

The 23-year-old is unlikely to feature in Jurgen Klopp’s plans next season and as such, his agent is hoping to get him a permanent transfer rather than another loan.

Speaking to Turkish outlet A Spor the striker’s agent said:

We are not looking to leave on loan again. We want to go a team that has made plans for him. In that regard, we’ve also spoken with Besiktas.

Origi’s goalscoring record at Liverpool was never really an issue, but Jurgen Klopp tended to favour other options and as such, the Belgian requested a loan in order to get regular first-team action.

His agent will speak with Liverpool again this summer and if Origi isn’t given assurances about playing time, he’s likely to be sold.
