Contrary to reports from Brazil stating otherwise, Liverpool did not make a bid to AS Roma for Alisson and they don’t intend to do so either.
According to both the Liverpool Echo and Gazzetta dello Sport, the Reds have been keeping an eye on the Brazilian shot stopper but they’ve not made an offer for him and they have no plans to do so either.
Roma are not interested in selling the 25-year-old and the player is happy at the Italian club. It is reported that he would be interested in a move to Real Madrid, but Roma will only let him leave if they receive bids in excess of £70m.
Liverpool have received no encouragement to make a move for the Brazilian international and as such, they’ll consider other options as they look to improve their goalkeeping situation.
With Simon Mignolet expected to leave, the Reds are likely to bring in a new goalkeeper but it’s not yet known who that will be.
