According to Percy, there is a release clause in Shaqiri’s contract with Stoke but it is believed to be slightly higher than the £12m figure which was reported last month. The Reds are expected to pay £13.75m for the former Bayern Munich man.

Jurgen Klopp has identified the Swiss star as a player who he’d like to sign and as such, he’ll become the third player to arrive at the Reds this summer, after midfield duo Fabinho and Naby Keita.
Shaqiri admitted prior to the World Cup that he would be looking for a move away from Stoke this summer and he’s set to be playing Champions League football next season.
