Liverpool have been given a huge boost in their attempts to sign Roma goalkeeper Alisson as Real Madrid have pulled out of the race to sign him, according to Italian journalist Alessandro Austini.

The other positive from Austini’s report is that he says that Liverpool are still ahead of Chelsea in any race to sign the Brazilian international.
It has been understood for a number of weeks that Madrid were Alisson’s prefered choice of new clubs but if they are no longer interested in him, then that opens the door for Liverpool.
Chelsea are also in the market for a new goalkeeper as it appears like Thibaut Courtois will be looking for a move away this summer and they too have been linked with a move for the Roma number one.
However, if Austini is correct, Liverpool are ahead of them in terms of negotiations and should feel confident of persuading the 25-year-old that Anfield is the place where he should be playing his football.
