Liverpool ‘willing to fight’ Real Madrid to sign Kylian Mbappe

Liverpool are ‘willing to fight’ Real Madrid in the race to sign Kylian Mbappe next summer, according to Sport [via Sport Witness].

The 21-year-old is widely regarded as one of the world’s best players, wreaking havoc for Paris Saint-Germain in recent years.

Mbappe has been linked with both Liverpool and Madrid in the past, with his long-term future appearing to lie away from PSG.

It could be that a fresh challenge comes the striker’s way next summer, and while Madrid are reportedly ‘going to give everything’ to sign him, the Reds may not go away without a fight. Jurgen Klopp also apparently has a ‘direct line’ to him.

Mbappe’s current deal at PSG expires in the summer of 2022, so next summer will be the best opportunity for them to earn a huge fee for the £162million-rated superstar.

I think Mbappe is arguably the most exciting signing Liverpool could possibly make next summer, considering what a generational talent he is.

Despite still only being 21, the Frenchman has already scored 97 goals in just 132 appearances for PSG, also chipping in with 58 assists, outlining his creativity.

Should Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane move on at the end of the season, Mbappe would be the perfect replacement, bringing lightning speed, relentless end product and longevity.

It is hard to envisage Liverpool paying an almost certain club-record fee without Salah or Mane leaving, however, so a lot could depend on their futures.
