Liverpool have been dealt a blow after as French midfielder Aurelien Nguiamba snubbed the chance to move to the Reds, as per reports in France.
According to reports, Liverpool had approached the teenager and asked him not to put pen to paper on a new deal so they could weigh up whether or not to make him an offer of their own.
However, the 19-year-old decided not to wait for the Reds and has agreed to sign a three-year extension with Nancy.
The French U19 midfielder recently broke into the Nancy first team and will hope to stay at the Ligue 2 side for the immediate future.
Nancy will be glad to keep hold of their bright young asset as they’ve gone through a really tough period as of late.
They were relegated from Ligue 1 at the end of the 2016/17 season and were almost relegated again a year later, finishing just two points above the relegation play-off places.
