Celtic are hoping to sign Pedro Chirivella from Liverpool on a permanent deal, according to Goal’s Neil Jones.

Liverpool had accepted a bid from Rosenborg last week but the Spanish midfielder rejected the move and as such, Celtic are hoping to swoop in.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers knows the 21-year-old very well as he was the manager who gave Chirivella his professional debut when he brought him on in the Europa League group game against Bordeaux back in September 2015.

Since then, Chirivella has hardly featured at all for Liverpool and it appears that his time at Anfield is coming to an end after the Reds were happy to let him leave to join Rosenborg.
The Norwegians’ accepted bid was worth around £3.5million so it’s reasonable to suggest that Liverpool will be looking for a similar fee from Celtic.
However, at the time of the failed move to Rosenborg, it was reported that Chirivella wanted to stay in England or move to Spain, so it remains to be seen if he’d be willing make a move to Scotland, although the prospect of playing under Rodgers again does reportedly appeal to the Spaniard.
