Cousin of Man City owner fails in attempt to buy Liverpool in £2bn deal

Sheik Khaled Bin Zayed Al Nehayan, the cousin of Manchester City owner Sheik Mansour, failed in a bid to take over Liverpool Football Club in a deal that would have been worth around £2billion.

As reported by the Daily Mail, officials at Liverpool have admitted that chairman Tom Werner did meet with Midhat Kidwai, the managing director of Sheik Khaled’s conglomerate of companies, in New York City, but the club’s major shareholders never met with anybody related to the offer.
