Manchester City have been handed a potential injury blow ahead of this weekend’s game against Liverpool as Ederson was substituted at half-time of their Champions League group game in Atalanta.
The Brazilian goalkeeper was spotted chatting with manager Pep Guardiola during a break in play in the first-half and then failed to come out for the second-half, with Claudio Bravo coming on in his place.
BT Sport reported that the goalkeeper felt a slight issue and was taken off as a precaution, but there will still be questions about his availability ahead of the Anfield clash and even if he does play, there is no guarantee that he will be 100%
If Ederson isn’t able to face Liverpool, Bravo, who played against the Reds in the Community Shield and saved Gini Wijnaldum’s penalty in the shootout, will likely deputise.

It sound like Ederson should be fit to face the Reds, with City being extra cautious ahead of such a big game.
The Brazilian has been one of the league’s best goalkeepers for a while and if he is missing, or even if he’s not quite at 100%, that will give some advantage to the Reds.
