Hull eye loan deal for Woodburn

Championship side Hull City are keen on signing youngster Ben Woodburn on loan, the Daily Mail report.

Hull, who are currently in 12th place in the Championship and six points adrift of the playoffs, are looking to bolster their squad in an attempt to mount a push for promotion back to the Premier League.

Woodburn is highly regarded by those at Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp is looking to loan the 19-year-old out to the right club after a disappointing spell with Sheffield United.

When questioned about the youngsters future earlier this weekend, the Liverpool boss said

We have to see. There are a couple of clubs interested, but to be honest if these clubs don’t give me the guarantee that he will play, there is absolutely no reason from my point of view to give him on loan.

Klopp is insistent on loaning Woodburn to a club who will guarantee the Wales international game time after the winger started just two games for the Blades during his five month loan there.

Woodburn has made just 11 appearances for Liverpool and became the club’s youngest goalscorer ever in 2016 as a 17-year-old following his strike against Leeds.

The winger has also been capped nine times by Wales.
