Liverpool deny making bid for Roma’s Alisson

Reports from in Italy have claimed that Liverpool had made a bid of €60m for Roma goalkeeper Alisson but the Liverpool Echo say that the Reds have made no such offer.

As reported by Ian Doyle, Liverpool’s stance regarding Alisson has not changed and the Reds have no plans to make an offer for the goalkeeper, despite having a long-standing interest in him.

A combination of Roma’s asking price and Alisson’s preference to move to Real Madrid have seemingly led to Liverpool deciding that a push to sign the Brazilian number one would be a futile exercise.

With Simon Mignolet set to depart this summer and with Loris Karius’ confidence shattered after the Champions League final, Liverpool are expected to bring in a new shot-stopper but, at this moment in time, it seems like that it won’t be Alisson.

As it stands, Karius will start the season as Liverpool’s number one, but there is still time for that to chance.
