Liverpool have made contact with Benfica over the availability of youngster Francisco Reis Ferreira, Sport Witness report via Portuguese outlet Record.
Jurgen Klopp is said to be keen on the defender who has featured for both Benfica’s first and second teams this season, while Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund are also keen on the 21-year-old.
Ferreira, who is known in Portugal as Ferro, recently signed a new contract with Benfica however, extending his stay at the Estadio da Luz until 2023.

The defender’s deal is also said to include a release clause of €100m, which appears a long way shy of Liverpool’s valuation of the 21-year-old.
According to the report, the Reds contacted Benfica two years ago to discuss an initial loan deal for Ferro, which included an optional future fee of €10m.
The Portuguese side declined the offer, however, and have also turned Liverpool’s most recent approach for the defender down.
