Liverpool are one of several Premier League sides, including Chelsea and Everton keeping tabs on young Rochdale star Luke Matheson, who made his first-team debut this week at the tender age of just 15.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, the Premier League trio are all said to be watching his development after impressing for the Football League outfit.
Keith Hill brought the youngster on in the 13th minute of Rochdale’s Checkatrade Trophy clash with Bury, which his side won 2-1.
Matheson, who only started Year 11 at school on the morning of the game, went on to put in a Man of the Match performance and has since dominated the headlines.
Liverpool will hope that their recent record of recruiting young players will give them an advantage over their rivals in the race to sign Matheson in the near future, should the youngster look to move on from the League One side.
