Liverpool’s players have made a fantastic gesture to the local community by helping out the Fans Supporting Foodbanks campaign.
With Premier League football suspended for the immediate future, those in charge at Fans Supporting Foodbanks were rightly concerned that their food supplies would be hugely impacted with both Liverpool and Everton not playing home games.
The campaign asks fans to bring donations with them to games but with those matches now suspended until April at the earliest, the potential impact was obvious.
However, as revealed by Henry Winter of The Times, Jordan Henderson has been in touch with MP Ian Byrne who heads up the campaign to tell him that he and the rest of the Liverpool players will cover the shortfall by making a financial donation that will help keep up the stocks at the local foodbanks.
Winter was one of the many people praising Liverpool, as were these fans.
Not a Liverpool fan at all but they are class from top to bottom 👏

It’s obviously a difficult, and uncertain time for plenty of people in the community but this kind gesture from Liverpool’s players will make a big impact on the lives of those who need help, and for that, they are rightly being praised.
