Lyon manager Bruno Genesio has admitted that Nabil Fekir is finding it difficult to readjust to being back with the French club after his move to Liverpool collapsed in the summer
The French international looked set to sign for the Reds as Lyon had accepted an offer. However, despite undergoing a medical with Liverpool, the deal fell through amidst speculation that the club’s medical staff were not happy with Fekir’s knees.
After being given an extended break after France’s World Cup win during the summer, the 25-year-old has rejoined his teammates but he’s still struggling to get back to his best as his dream move fell through.

Genesio, as reported by the Evening Standard, said:
It is never easy accepting this kind of situation when you are very near to signing for a club where you want to go. Where you want to reach another level and to give a boost to your career. But as I said, it could have been worse for him. He is at Lyon, at a strong club, he is captain of a team who plays in the Champions League.
Whether Liverpool go back in for Fekir in the future remains to be seen but that looks highly unlikely at this point.
