Salah prioritises Premier League title over Champions League dream

Salah prioritises Premier League title over Champions League dream

Mohamed Salah has revealed he is willing to give up on his dream of winning the Champions League if it gives Liverpool a better chance of winning the Premier League this season.

According to Sky Sports, the Egyptian recognises the importance of winning the league for the club and the Liverpool fans, and the winger revealed he would “sacrifice” his personal dream of lifting the Champions League in order to win the league.

Salah’s Liverpool are currently one point behind Manchester City in the race for the title with eight games remaining, but also face Bayern Munich in the second leg of their last 16 tie in the Champions League on Wednesday.

And though the winger stated his desire to be victorious in Europe’s main competition, he is ready to prioritise a push for the league title over a Champions League triumph.

I will be honest with you, the most prestigious competition for me is the Champions League.

But the dream for the entire city and the club is the league. So, I am happy to sacrifice my dream for their dream but if we win both that would great and this is what we are trying to do.

Liverpool have the chance to put the pressure on league leaders City this weekend, with Pep Guardiola’s side involved in an FA Cup quarter final tie rather than the league giving the Reds the chance to regain top spot.
