Steven Gerrard is set to take his first steps into senior management by taking over as the manager of Glasgow Rangers.
As reported by Neil Jones of Goal, Gerrard has agreed to take over the Scottish giants this summer and as such, he’ll be leaving his role managing Liverpool’s U18 side.
Rangers have been interested in hiring Gerrard for a few weeks and after discussions regarding finances, the former England captain has apparently agreed to take the job.

The former Reds captain will call upon one of his former teammates, Gary McAllister, to be his assistant, which seems a wise move as the former Scottish international has experience as a number two and will know the ins and outs of football north of the border.
Gerrard will be tasked with creating a squad to compete with Celtic, who’ve dominated Scottish football for the last seven years and look set to complete the domestic treble for the second year running under Gerrard’s former manager Brendan Rodgers.
