Virals: Jurgen Klopp confirms Roberto Firmino is unavailable this weekend

Liverpool will be without striker Roberto Firmino for the clash with Crystal Palace this weekend.

The Reds welcome Patrick Viera’s side to Anfield for a 3pm kick-off on Saturday looking to maintain an unbeaten record in the Premier League.

They will be doing so without Firmino however as the Brazilian remains sidelined following a hamstring injury suffered prior to the international break.

Jurgen Klopp confirmed the Brazilian’s continued absence during a pre-match press conference, as cited by Paul Gorst on Twitter.

Firmino had featured in all three league outings prior to picking up the muscle issue midway through the first half against Chelsea.

Klopp also confirmed more changes would be necessary for the clash following a rotated lineup in midweek for the meeting with AC Milan.

Firmino’s prolonged absence is a huge blow to this Liverpool squad.

Still yet to return to full training, it seems unlikely a return to action in midweek against Norwich City is on the cards.

Having a fully fit front four of Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Firmino is crucial to the Reds’ chances both domestically and in Europe.

Without the £45million valued ace (Trasnfermarkt), one of Divock Origi or Takumi Minamino could be granted an opportunity to make a rare Premier League start.
