Virals: Touching gesture from Harvey Elliott remembers Hillsborough victims

Liverpool loanee Harvey Elliott has been hitting all the right spots during his spell with Blackburn Rovers this season, with the wonderkid’s latest gesture another showing understanding.

The teenager has been demonstrating maturity beyond his years both in terms of performances on the field and actions off it.

After scoring Rovers’ second goal in a 2-1 win over Derby County last Friday, the 18-year-old removed his shirt to reveal the message “96 YNWA” written on a vest.

Now Elliott has paid tribute to the victims of the Hillsborough disaster once again by laying a wreath at the Leppings Lane End in memory of the 96 supporters who lost their lives at the stadium on 15th April 1989.

Both incidents have shown despite his tender years the winger understands the values upheld by his parent club and to take the opportunity to mark the anniversary on two separate occasions is something to be immensely proud of.

Elliott could be in line for a role in Jurgen Klopp’s squad next season having suitably impressed during his season-long loan spell.

After the actions of the last week, Kopites will likely have no qualms about the talented teenager’s inclusion.
