Worry for Liverpool as Firmino subbed off in first-half of United clash

Roberto Firmino limped off in the first half of Liverpool’s clash with Manchester United on Sunday in an opening 30 minutes in which three United players were also replaced after picking up respective injuries.

Twitter: 30′ Jürgen Klopp is also forced into a first-half substitution – Firmino is replaced by Sturridge in attack.

Ander Herrara, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata were replaced early on for the home side, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was forced into two early substitutions, while Marcus Rashford also appears to be struggling with a knock.

Mata’s replacement Jesse Lingard was rushed back from injury to feature in the United squad but he too has just limped off two minutes before half time, with four changes being made due to injury in the opening 45 minutes.

Firmino then looked to be in discomfort for Liverpool and was replaced on the half hour mark by Daniel Sturridge, in an evenly contested first half.

Sky Sports co-commentators Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville were slightly surprised by Jurgen Klopp’s decision to replace the injured Firmino with Sturridge given his lack of game time in recent weeks, with both pundits expecting to see Divock Origi replace the Brazilian.

Firmino’s injury looked fairly innocuous with the striker pulling up with nobody close to him.
