“I think he’ll sign for Real Madrid next year”: Fabrizio Romano deals huge blow for Liverpool in pursuit of £144m superstar

It has been a long-going saga between Liverpool and French superstar Kylian Mbappe.

The PSG striker has grown into one of the best young players on the planet and the future of football.

So much so that even former France striker Nicolas Anelka has tipped him to win the Ballon d’Or in the future.

The Reds have been linked with Mbappe for some time now, with them even being tipped for a move this summer.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano updated football fans on the Mbappe situation on Spanish outlet El Larguero.

Romano stated that he thinks Mbappe will stay at PSG this season and sign for Real Madrid next season…

As cited by LFC Transfer Room above, the Italian feels he will stay in Paris due to their Financial Fair Play situation.

The French club has already been sanctioned back in 2018 and has plenty of time to splash the cash before another.

With that means they can retain their current crop of players for a little while longer, making their current transfer activity a possibility.

Sadly for Liverpool fans, Romano feels that Real Madrid will be the likely destination for Mbappe next season.

The Spanish club have been one of the main clubs linked with a move alongside Liverpool.

There are not many clubs in the world that can afford the Frenchman but the ones that can are hot on the heels.

If Liverpool had the funds then there is no doubt they would fancy themselves to sign Mbappe.

However, there is no telling how the situation may develop next season but Romano’s opinion clearly comes with some merit.

matchday.
